Car hire Turkey

Turkey is a country located in Euro-Asia. It haves a population of 74,724,269 people and it is using the Turkish lira (TL). In Turkey you have to drive on the right direction of the road.

To hire a car in Turkey you will need a driving license, International Driving Permit, passport and a valid credit card. Car hire companies will need you to be more than 19 with a driving license for at least a year, although they may surcharge drivers under the age of 25. All passengers should wear their seatbelts at all times and you should give priority to vehicles coming from your right. Road conditions are not the best, since when in rural roads you may find potholes, animals and animal carts. Drivers may change lanes or turn without using their indicators, so drive defensively at all times. Parking in the city centres is almost impossible so you can use the many public parking lots large cities have. There are toll highways that connect big cities and gas stations have all types of fuel and accept major credit cards. It is advised to refuel whenever possible because gas stations in Turkey are not as frequent as in Europe.
