Car rental Brazil

Brazil is a country located in South America. It haves a population of 193,946,886 people and it is using the Brazilian real (R$). In Brazil you have to drive on the right direction of the road.

To rent a car in Brazil you need the international driving license, your driving license, your passport and a valid credit card. The minimum age to rent a car is 21-25 years old (depending on the rental car company), and the driver must have the driving license for at least two years, and some rental car companies may charge an additional fee to young drivers. It is compulsory to use the seat belt. Cell phone use while driving is not allowed unless you use the hands-free system. Driving behavior in Brazil can be dangerous, ranging from bad habits such as tailgating to road rage. Don’t expect people to cross exclusively at pedestrian crossings, so drive carefully. Brazilian roads range from very well-kept highways to roads with insufficient signs and potholes the size of craters and impassable mud pits. The beach roads, especially the ones in the south, have heavy traffic during holidays and weekends. There are toll roads, especially near the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Remember, you can be fined when driving with improper shoes (flip flops or sandals). If you plan to travel with children, please ask a special seat for them. In Brazil we recommend not to park on the street in major urban centers. Robberies are common especially in big cities. Usually it is not hard to find gas stations near large cities or along major roads, but it can be difficult in rural areas or far from populated areas.
