Car rental Cyprus

Cyprus is a country located in Southern Europe. It haves a population of 1,099,341 people and it is using the Euro (€). In Cyprus you have to drive on the left direction of the road.

Car rental companies will need a passport, a driving license and a valid credit card to let you hire a car. If the driving license is not in English, you may need an International Driving Permit, unless you are an EU citizen. The driver must be at least 21 with three years driving experience, although some companies may charge more drivers under the age of 25. Drivers in Cyprus tend to be a little aggressive, so drive defensively. Children under the age of 5 should seat on special seats, depending on their weight and talking on the phone while driving is illegal. The lights must be on from one hour and a half before sunset until one hour and a half after sunrise. In the cities there are park meters everywhere that allow you to park for an hour at the side of the road. There are no toll roads in Cyprus and there are gas stations that can be used 24 hours with cash or credit card and if you go during normal working hours an attendant will normally pump your gas and wash your windshield.
