Car rental Slovenia

Slovenia is a country located in Southern Europe. It haves a population of 2,060,382 people and it is using the Euro (€). In Slovenia you have to drive on the right direction of the road.

To rent a car in Slovenia you will need a photo ID, a driving license, a valid credit card and be the owner of the driving license for at least two years. Car rental companies will need an International Driving Permit if the driving license was issued in a country outside EU and may surcharge drivers between 21 and 25 years old. Main roads are in a very good condition, all passengers must wear seatbelts, lights must be on all day and you should give priority to public transport and to vehicles coming from your right. You should be aware of drivers passing the red light at intersections if they think that they are faster than you. Parking zones are not very clear and it is better to park your car at parking lots. If you wish to drive on highways you should purchase a vignette, a form of tolls which has a fixed price that depends on the number of days you need it and on the type of car. Gas stations next to highways are open 24/7, whereas on smaller roads they are open during the day.
